Outlook 2007 Ray Sefo
|
Ray Sefo has been in the Grand Prix 7 times and has amassed a meager 3 wins (bouts). Still, he is regarded as one of the best fighters in the K-1. He is a solid contender for the Grand Prix, but Father Time tells us he does not have 7 more chances to win the title. On a good day, Sefo is a solid generalist who can use any technique to pull ahead of his opponents. On a bad day, he is a pure specialist who depends on his right hand to end a fight. Ironically, on some bad days, he knocks opponents out cold giving the illusion that he is having a good day. Considering how many transformations Aerts and Hoost have had to accept, it is not an insult to suggest that Sefo is due for an overhaul. The right hand will always be there, but it is time for a new best weapon. If, for instance, Sefo developed an excellent mid kick, he would not only benefit from the points scored but also from the opportunities presented whenever an opponent dropped his hands. Sefo will have a good year in 2007. The question is gWill it be good enough?h By that, I mean by his own standards. Ray knows he is good enough to become Grand Prix Champion. |
